I used scotch tape to peel off faces from newspaper photos then transferred them to a sheet of blank paper. The relationships between characters and the news content changes when they leave the newspaper for another stage. The familiar faces are no longer part of the news but are transformed into symbolic, social patterns, each a fragment of the world’s truth.
